Cork Week is an extremely well organised event which is run every two years and attracts 500 racing yachts.  It has grown a reputation of being one of the best sailing regattas in the world.   Run by sailors for sailors, Cork Week combines hard core racing with what is regarded as the best socialising of any regatta. The racing is varied and challenging, with 4 courses raced over 5 days.

This year we are offerering two choices: Share-a-Yacht crew places on board our Grand Soleil 45 or Bareboat / Skippered Charter on board one of our Beneteau 40.7's. Keep reading below for details of our Cork Share-a-Yacht Week :

Join as crew on our new Grand Soleil 45 at this years Cork Week. It is not necessary for you to be an expert sailor/racer, so everyone can get used to the boat, we will be holding a practice day on the Sunday before the start of racing in the Monday. We will be racing in a spinnaker class, so there will be plenty to keep all of the crew busy. Both the yacht skipper and first mate are commercial Yachtmasters with many years of racing experience

The racing will be a mix of Coastal, In-shore "Round the Cans" racing and up wind / down wind courses

During Cork Week you will also have the opportunity to
explore the old city of Cork, while ashore at Crosshaven
you will find the tented village which forms
5 entertainment areas offering Irish music, discos, food
and many many bars.

Themed party nights together with sponsored drinks
parties give the opportunities for free drinks and promotions.

Reach 4 the Wind will be sailing to Cork the week before the event taking in the cruising grounds of the West Country, giving the crew the opportunity to spend up to 16 days on board.

For 2008 we will be sailing our Grand Soleil 45 (launched April 05). The yacht offers an unrivalled combination of sparkling sailing performance, beautiful lines and top build quality.

The cabin proportions are unusually roomy for such a fast yacht, with a traditional L- shaped galley, large navigation station and twin heads.

The construction uses a galvanised steel frame to take the loads of the keel, mast base and rigging creating a very stiff and low centre of gravity feel

Fully proven in the 2005/7 Fastnet Races, she is equipped with a full set of racing sails manufacture by Northsails

The IRC rating is very competitive at 1.074 This new model is already finding success, the first notable being victory at Spi Ouest - doubtless with many more to follow.
